Wingsuiters from as far away as Argentina recently converged on Skydive Arizona for a two day wingsuit skills camp. Birdman Chief Instructor Scott Campos and Birdman Instructor Juan Mayer worked with 16 participants on improving their individual wingsuiting skills. Experience ranged from first timers to seasoned pilots. Individual skills as well as the finer aspects of wingsuit safety and flocking were emphasized while maintaining one on one feedback to all of the participants. Sharing both the Skyvan and Otter with the wingsuiters was the CRW team Frayed Knot. The team was busy working on canopy formation skills as well as flying their new STORM canopies. Team members commented that the STORM had lots of bottom end flare and some impressive swoops we seen in the landing area. By the end of the second day, all involved with the camp agreed that they had learned a lot and most importantly, they had fun doing it.
