Many of you might already know this, but Norman Kent is a pretty cool cat. You probably are well aware of his skills as a photographer, but he's also the man behind the skydiving scenes in several bad-ass movies (and one not so bad-ass, even if the skydiving bits were rock solid).
Norman canopy of choice is the PD Stiletto, with Dacron lines - as reliable opening and versatile performance become hugely important when jumping with a 36 lbs camera helmet, not for those faint of heart. Or neck.
His latest accomplishment is the movie "Get Smart" - the movie just opened and is already topping the lists, promising to be a treat to watch. There is a cool interview with him in the local news paper, and if you are keen on seeing a sneak preview, you can download that through the iTunes store (a quick link here through Norman's website) for free.
Hopefully this movie will help generate momentum and public interest in skydiving, showing it in a positive light (even if a little Hollywood-ed), so bring your friends and family to the movie theaters and help spread the word!
The "Norman Kent Fan Club" is meeting tonight at a theater in Daytona Beach to watch the movie along with Norman Kent himself and celebrate a job well done. Congrats Norman, we are proud to be one of your partners!
