We rolled the dice and missed the 360 days of sun each year that Skydive Arizona usually offers up. But we still managed to complete the Annual Money Meet with over 50 competitors registered. Brian Buckland captured this shot of Danielle Ford and Meili Modini during round 2 of the comp.
As mentioned in a previous posting the Australian Canopy Piloting Nationals for 2010 ar now complete. This year was the closest ever result for first place overall with a mere 7 points separating first and second place. In the end Robbie McMillan came out on top to win his first CP Nationals in Australia. Cameron Rolfe from Team Horizon finished in second place overall with Kaz Sheekey from Slipstream Airsports coming in third. It was great once again to see PD Sponsored Pilots bringing home 6 of the 12 Medals on offer.
We are now setting our sights for Russia and representing Performance Designs at the 2010 World Championships in Canopy Piloting to be held this August.

Please join us in welcoming our new addition to the PD team of sponsored athletes. Carolina Turbo, made up of five young energetic men took the competition by storm at the 2009 UPSA nationals when they won the intermediate category in formation skydiving. Ben Worrall, Doug Barron, Joey Coffineau, Andrew Happick, and Jamies Sides are current students, or recently graduated from the Virginia Tech Skydiving Club. This year they changed their name from VTSD to Carolina Turbo and are going to be worth keeping your eyes on in the years to come.
They've adopted Skydive Carolina as their home dz. Their canopies of choice are the Sabre2 and Katana. This summer they have a busy schedule of training, coaching, organizing, scrambles, and competitions to keep them active. This weekend Skydive Cityin Zephyrhills Florida hosted the second meet of the 2010 FLCPAseason. For those who haven't been involved in the competitive "swoop" scene, the FLCPA is the Florida Canopy Pilots Association. The league is made up of pro and amateur canopy pilots who travel to a different dropzone each month and have a swoop meet. January brought 43 of them out to Skydive Sebastian, and this month 23 of the brave souls headed out to Z-Hills. Friday, which is usually the practice day, was rained out and Saturday was "weathered out" with 20-30 MPH winds. Brian McNenney, who was the coach for this meet, took the time on Saturday afternoon to do a Q &A with all the competitors and discuss competition, and the new IPC rules for 2010.
Sunday started out overcast but by the afternoon the meet was underway! They completed three of the usual six rounds. One round being in each disipline of speed, distance, and accuracy. At the end of the meet the top places were:

2nd- Albert Berchtold-Pro
3rd- Ian Drennan-Pro
4th-Warren Cleary-Ama
5th John Minos-Ama
