Sunshine Factory started around 1982 and was incorporated in 1984. The business was started by Joannie Murphyand Henri Pohjolainen. For many years their store was in downtown Zephyrhills with a small satellite store at the dropzone. The two divorced in 1996. Joanie kept the Sunshine Factory which she moved to Skydive City and Henri kept up the rigging and manufacturing. Henri opened up the business now known as Sunrise Manufacturing.
The Sunshine Factory we see today is owned and operated by Joanie and accomplished FS competitor and organizer Dave Ruffell. They also have three part time employees who help them keep up with the shop. "From the day we opened the company in downtown Z-Hills until today our goal is the same- to be #1 in customer service. If we don't take care of our customers, someone else will!" says Joanie.
